So I’ve decided to change this blog around, and instead of writing from Claire’s point of view, I figured that I’d write from the mommy point of view. Easier to make sense of things.
It’s amazing to Jeff and me how quickly Claire is growing up. Often we’ll sit on the couch and talk about what she was like a few months ago and how much she’s changed. Even looking back at the pictures in her blog from a month ago, we already see a dramatic difference. I remember when she was just a few months old and her poor colic.
It was so difficult those first few months and being parents was so new to us. I was so stressed and didn’t know how to be a mom and didn’t have the confidence. Now we look at her and are absolutely amazed by the blessing that she is.
She is starting to learn to crawl now. When I saw crawl, I mean a little scoot backwards. She can turn herself all the way from one direction to the next while on her belly plus scoot back a few feet. Oh, by the way, she still hasn’t figured out the whole rolling over thing. I think her belly is too big! She’s such a chunk! Glad she’s healthy though. I just weighed her a few days ago and she was 19 1/2 pounds! She’s 7 months and 3 weeks old and is almost 20 pounds!! She’s in the 9 month clothes already. Hard to believe she was only 5 lbs 14 oz when she was born. I read something that said that kids triple their weight by their 1st birthday. Um, she has definitely already passed that statistic up! She’s in the 90th percentile! But I was a chunk when I was little, I had a triple chin and couldn’t even sit up because of my chunky legs! Once she starts moving, she’ll slow down on the weight gain. And she’s already showing signs of that! She’s definitely going to be a little monkey. She is all over the place when you try to hold her now. Very curious!
