Poor little Claire isn’t feeling good

I picked Claire up from daycare on Friday, and they said she had diarrhea. Okay, now this has to be the second worst thing to have to take care of with your kid – first is when they throw-up ewwwww!). Not to get too graphic, but she probably went about 12-14 times this weekend and it went everywhere!! It just came right out of the diaper and onto all of her clothes and whatever else she was on/in (floor, car seat, jumper, pack-n-play…you get the picture). We couldn’t step away from her because if we did, we’d come back to see that she went all over the place. Lots of baths this weekend! It was SO exhausting. We started getting a little worried because she was going so much. Ugh, I just felt so bad for her! It doesn’t help that she’s hated going on the changing table lately (I think her teeth are bothering her when she lays down), because she was there all the time. And what a mess to clean all her clothes and blankets (oh, and carpet too!!!!). It was a little more difficult for me because Jeff had to work all weekend. Claire was either crying, needing full attention or having her diaper changed. She wasn’t really into her food either. She kept doing a gagging reflex whenever we’d feed her, and she wasn’t taking the bottle much. We were getting a little worried that she might get dehydrated. Poor thing!! Luckily Jeff didn’t have to work on Monday until 2 pm, so he stayed home with her in the morning and then I came home to take care of her. Things tapered off Monday afternoon and she was able to go back to daycare on Tuesday. She was SO happy to be back! Now she’s all better, well, almost all better – she’s still very upset about her teeth and in quite a bit of pain.
