It wouldn’t be fall without heading to the pumpkin patch farm. We just had to have Claire see the little animals and check out all the big pumpkins. She was a bit under the weather, so didn’t look like her normal self. She had fun anyway though. She loves checking out the animals.
The next weekend we met up with our friends Mary, Michelle and Audrey at the zoo. I was going to get Claire all dressed up in her Halloween costume, but then decided I didn’t want her to be the only one dressed up. It was a bit chilly that day, so all in all, it might have been the better decision to dress her up. We walked around the zoo with them for almost 4 hours! Audrey was so sweet to Claire. We just wandered all around and checked out the animals. It was a fun day.
I got Claire a little bunny Halloween costume that is almost like a bunting outfit. It’s a size 2-3, so obviously a bit large on Claire. Halloween morning we had to go to a doctor appointment to check out Claire’s flat head. Dr. Joslin recommended we do so just in case she wasn’t developing properly. So we went in (got her all dressed up in her bunny costume) and went to Children’s Hospital. We were probably there 15 minutes and the doctor said that she was fine. Great!! No helmet!! Then I dropped her off at daycare and headed over to work. When I picked her up from daycare, they gave us little Halloween cards with her footprint that was upside down so it looked like a ghost. So cute! Jeff and I headed over to do a quick stroll around the mall with Claire all dressed up. There were TONS of kiddos there! So cute! Then we all headed home. Saturday night we had Mary, Michelle and Audrey over for dinner. It was so much fun! Claire and Audrey get along so well! They were just running all over the place screaming and laughing. Loved it! It was great to see her with another kid and just laughing away.
Oh, we started this Kindermusik class which is supposed to teach Claire how to sign. It’s okay, but the girl teaching the class is way to hyper and isn’t really teaching the kids sign language. It’s too busy and I don’t think they can really soak it in. We’ll probably pull her out of it.
Claire’s been walking all over the place now. A few more bumps and bruises, but she’s doing great. She loves to get into the kitchen cabinets and pull everything out. She has one in particular that has linens in it, and she pulls them out and then starts cleaning with them (wonder where she got that from? Ha!). She’s also started chasing the cat more lately. She has so much fun with her! She seems to be picking up on things quickly, and is really starting to show her personality. She’s got such a Buddha belly because of eating all the time. Jeff’s a little worried, but I think she’s fine. She’s healthy, right?!!
What a fun month it’s been! Next month Mema Martha comes in town to watch her for the weekend while Jeff and I get to go away and celebrate our 5-year anniversary. It will be the first time I’m away from her, so it will probably be a little hard. Mema does so well with her though, so I’m sure things will go great.
